Concentration rich people spend money to show their wealth. Trust legal device, where a number of corporations are brought under control of a single director. It allows many different companies to be controlled by a single director. Conspicuous consumption rich people spend money on nonfunctional goods just to show off. Homestead act- encouraged western migration by providing settlers with a ton of public land (land owned by us government dispossessed from native americans) Wipe out native americans by killing buffalo, raiding villages, and killing horses.
