Conception can happen at any time during the cycle, but is more likely during high fertility/estrous. Straightforward prediction from sexual selection theory #1: women"s mating adaptations(desires) will be sensitive to fertility within the cycle. Fertility window for individual women is narrow, which can affect mating decisions. Straightforward prediction from sexual selection theory #2: if there are outward indications of women"s fertility, men will receive them and find them attractive. Other animals display estrus outwardly with swelling, but humans cannot. Lap protocol: diary methods or multiple lab visits with lh tests (order of high and low fertility sessions is counterbalanced)- asked among health questions. Shifts in women"s attraction to other men. Low male partner sexual attractiveness and increases in women"s attraction to other men at high relative to low fertility. Illusion of self and other scale via venn diagrams.
