Document Summary
Ways to find out things about the brain: Observe animals and cause damage to the brains of animals. Try to differentiate one kind of neural/brain disorder from another. Alot of motor function disorders present themselves as tremors, which can be many different diseases that causes that. A step forward when people realized that you need to trace the course of the disease while they are alive. After they die, cut them open and figure it out. After this, they did find a lot of things about the brain. Use electrodes to stimulate portions of the brain to see which limb/part of body reacts to that. Studying neurons under the microscope (electrophysiological recording, microscopy, animal experimentation) Who were these guys, where they came from, and what they did. He remembered that many smart people in his classes were better at thought that where your brain bulges is what is better remembering things.
