Document Summary

As time passed, the individuals came to believe that the group influences are real. They began to resemble their ideal roles (the guard became more dominant; prisoners became submissive). Values are less recognized because of visual perception (youtube: love american style) Groupthink: is a process by which individuals lose their identities and align with a group resulting in potentially dangerous results. Ex: engineers as a group has to produce decisions. The other member has strong influence, pressure to agree with what they are being asked to agree. The final decision maker doesn"t receive/ has no access to information of all people of the group. Group members irrationally line up with the group. Groupthink can occur in group as small as 2 people. + if you have a lot vested (you have something to lose), groupthink is more likely to happen.
