Document Summary

Which of the following structures/molecules is in a plant or animal cell but not a bacterial cell: ribosome, dna, plasma membrane, mitochondria. Cells: cell theory: all organisms made of cells, cell: simplest collection of matter that is alive. All cells: enclosed by plasma membrane (phospholipid bilayer selective barrier, contain semifluid substance (cytosol) (note: cytoplasm is physical space between membrane and nucleus containing cytosol, have chromosomes with dna, have ribosomes for protein synthesis. Prokaryotic: found in domains bacteria (true bacteria) and archaea (ancient bacteria, do not contain nucleus or any other membrane bound organelles, dna located in nucleoid region. Eukaryotic: found in kingdoms animalia, protista, fungi and plantae, contain true nucleus, contain other specialized membrane bound organelles, generally bigger than prokaryotic cells. In animal cells but not plant cells: lysosomes, centrioles, flagella. You are looking at an unknown cell under a microscope, but all you can see is the nucleus.
