Group pressure influenced subjects responses, they gave responses that corresponded to the erroneous answers given by confederates. Four of the five people intentionally say wrong answer, the last one who is the only subject agrees with them even though it is wrong. Famous experiment, people will succumb to group pressure. Normative influence occurs when a member conforms to expectations held by others (that is, to norms) in order to receive the social rewards or avoid the punishments that are contingent on meeting these expectations.
