Smiling evolutionarily contagious -> suppresses control over facial muscles when mirror it of someone else. One smile can generate same level of brain stimulation as up to 2,000 bars of chocolate. Smiling can make you healthier -> reduce stress hormones & increase mood- enhancing hormones that can reduce blood pressure. Darwin: facial feedback hypothesis -> faking a smile can actually make you feel better.
