Document Summary
Retina: the light sensitive inner surface onto which light rays focus. Da blind spot: so apparently we got a blind spot and we can"t see everything. The optic nerve leaves the eye on the nasal side of the eye, causing a blind spot in the left visual field for our left eye and vice versa. However we don"t notice blind spots bc we got 2 eyes. Note to self: stare at that above diagrams until you get it. Duplex theory of vision: we have 2 receptor types and they handle diff. aspects of vision. Fovea: central focal point in the retina. Has all rods and many of the cones. With a combo of those three we see other colors. So basically the young helmholtz theory doesn"t explain everything. These signals are then processed cones can still see yellow wahhh respond to diff. Color stimuli by the opponent process cells on their way to the visual cortex.
