You can sleep through traffic but if a baby cries you can hear that shiz. Extends from the rear of the brainstem. Looks like a tiny brain wowowowowow tiny brain in a big brain inception. Gets info from eyes, ears, skin (no smell) and sends those signals up to cerebral cortex for processing. Transmit replies from cortex to medulla and cerebellum. Relays touch signals to sensory cortex, visual info visual cortex etc.
