Achromatopsia: inability to perceive the world in color (because of cortical damage) not the same as color blindness (which is due to something wrong with the cones in the retina) Color and cortex left hemisphere lingual and fusiform gyrus (v4, v8) areas involved with color. Visual lateralization possible to lose color in only one visual field. Live human retinal mosaics images of the retinas of people o have different amount of each cone (few blue cones) color sensor in your eye is different from the color sensors in anyone else. Wrong idea: red cones only see red light, green cones only see green light, blue cones only see blue light the probability a photon will be caught by a cone depending on wavelength. L: red, m: green, s: blue color experience: the colors being experienced are at least in part the relative activation of these cones (to figure out what the color is)
