Mind = mental activity (memories, feelings, thoughts) Brain = physical instantiation of the mind. The study of mind, brain, & behavior. Statistical measure that indicates relationship between two variables. Seeking out evidence that confirms your opinion/pre-conceived idea. Ignoring evidence that goes against what you think. The i knew it all along" effect. Once you have all the facts, it"s easier to see things more clearly. Causation = one thing directly leads to and/or influences another. Everyone experiences the world differently -> leads to different approaches & views of things. If you don"t know what the right thing is, you are probably not going to be able to judge self accurately. Use of prior information from experience to make decision. Not necessarily accurate, but fulfills immediate goal. Central nervous system = brain & spinal cord. Peripheral nervous system = somatic (voluntary) & autonomic (involuntary) nervous system.
