Theories help us predict: neo-liberal theory anarchic world, naion states are most important, but they have the capacity to cooperate with one another. We shouldn"t predict that the rise of china will lead to conlict; we can create insituions (global governance) The fact that we have two theories suggests that it is diicult to decide which one is right. We create theories in order to make arguments: you use theories to not necessarily tell the truth, but to make arguments. Theory of markets eiciency will lead to a more producive economy. The fruits of this more producive economy will lead to the beneit of everybody (although disproporionally). Most of us have bought into this theory. Democracy we should expect that in a democracy society will mobilize when they mobilize (social movements, acivist organizaions), they will push governments for more equitable distribuion.
