Studying political attitudes and ideologies at the societal level leads to critical analysis on political culture. Individualism - priority on individuals in society (common in w. european democracies) When she tried to interview one person she had a group of people. The women did not have a voice but the man would speak. It was hard to speak to someone alone. It is hard to get an honest opinion -- india. All describe the united kingdom, a classic democracy. There is a monarch as head of state, although her practical authority is limited: democracy. Democracy: political power exercised either directly or indirectly through participation, competition, and liberty. Liberal democracy: democracy rooted in the idea of liberalism, emphasizing individual freedoms. Indirect democracy: citizens choosing leaders who then make laws and politics. Republicanism: separation of powers and indirect representation. A democracy can fit into all these. Direct democracy, in which citizens choose laws. Rome: separation of powers in a republic.
