As far as we know, hugh glass did not have a wife. Auteur theory emphasises the influence of the director. I just got living and the only way i get to do that is through these pelts. (economics) Arikara (aka ree ), anglo-american traders, french, pawnee, other amerindians? (multinational) And alternative to a 2-sided notion of the border. Theorised not only as a geographic area but an anti-dualistic view of language, race, sexuality, and body"s relationship to spirit. In some countries, most importantly mexico, the concept of mestizo is used to name a new national identity that is not completely spanish or amerindian. In latin america, it refers to the child of a spaniard and an amerindian. Hugh glass seems to be someone of mixed ancestry, neither fully european nor amerindian. Glass: a mestizo who becomes one with animals, ice water, snow, earth. He"s in the borderland of cultures and languages. He has a mixed family that is part pawnee.
