They funded anti allende propaganda campaigns, they wanted to create opposition to allende and prevent his government from being consolidated. Church commission is a series of economic measures. There were four military offices and they came up with 14 points. They blamed allende for a bunch of stuff. Essentially pinochet wanted to get rid of all of his enemies, he did not want anyone to oppose him and then potentially overthrow him. He wanted to get rid of all of the bad seeds in his government. there was also a psychological aspect in the sense that he used it as a form of intimidation and to instill fear among the people. He did not kill them because then they would seem to be martyrs and this way if they survived they could go tell what happened. They wanted to make the victims feel politically isolated. It affected universities, political parties, and political organizations.
