Learning style- can be a tool for stereotyping, learning preference is better, because they are capable of doing other styles too. Learning style changes, just like culture, its not something that is fixed. Intelligence is the ability to solve a problem or create a product that is valued in a culture. Western and non western perception on intelligence is different. Western- intelligence is a meant for indiv to devise categories and to engage in rational debate. Non-western- intelligence emphasize understanding and relating to others and to play their social roles successfully. There is a debate on whether or not there is all these different kinds of intelligence- because they aren"t all easily assessed. Assessment is key so that teachers can understand where students are at. No one tool cannot capture the whole picture.
