Document Summary

There"s no such thing as an isolated system. Weather is the state of the atmosphere at a given time and place. Climate is the average weather over a long period of time in a given place. 6 types of regions: tropical, dry, mild, severe mid-latitude, polar, highland. The cryosphere is in d, e, h: tropics are near the equator, 30 degrees north/ 30 degrees south/ some are far from ocean. Poles are not cold because of the equator. Poles are cold because the earth is spherical resulting in beam. Energy from the sun is spread out so the poles get less. Because the earth is spherical and the mechanics of the earth"s orbit. A revolution is one year, it has little influence on seasons. In highland regions, in troposphere temperature decreases due to latitude. With increase in latitude air pressure and density decrease.
