Back in the day, surrogacy was when a woman, the mother who provides her womb to gestate the baby was inseminated with the male clients sperm. You should be aware: there are many ongoing moral, racial, class-based, feminist, all-kinds of debates regarding whether or not this should be legal. In the matter of baby m (nj 1988) New jersey court examines the enforceability of a surrogacy contract. Family law which governs these questions differs from state to state; governs marriage, divorce, child custody proceedings, child support, foster care, etc. Surrogate mother paid 10k and promised to give up parental rights; stern has the baby but becomes super depressed and suicidal and didn"t want to part with the baby melissa.
