Clusters of sounds within languages that mean or do specific things. /h/ /e/ /l/ /m/ /e/ /t/ 6 phonemes. Dis (negates) + agree (root) + ment (noun) + s (plural) Words can be made up of multiple morphemes. Examples: book, bird, phone, beep, in, job, chocolate, withdrawal, elimination.
