Document Summary

Your mind tends to be protected from a boundary of assumptions that protect it from culturally divergent thoughts. First and second seminole wars (1810s and 1830s) Considered biracial society: african-americans lived among the seminoles. African-americans would perform raiding parties to free slaves in georgia, slave owners made soldiers to fight in these wars to get slaves back. Two examples of wars that america fought in wars not necessarily for the sake of liberty. To think sociologically - to see how human behavior is shaped by culture which itself is shaped by the needs of groups. Ex: condsider the cultural rule known as the incest taboo. People follow this taboo bc it"s god"s will, but societies that don"t have deities or follow different deities still follow it. Could also be for biologically and/or psychological reasoning.
