Document Summary

Collapse network - when a friend, family, etc. overlap: privacy awareness (mcewan, 2015) People are aware on some level (debatin et al. , 2009) People are somewhat aware, but not a lot. Events happen (ex: facebook hacked & personal info leaked) People need to be aware of who their audience is. But it"s difficult to fully tell who their audience is. We are not fully aware & remember who our audience is when we post something. We have some knowledge of who our audience is, but we cannot remember all of them completely. Ex: like a curtain is in front of us (inhibits our vision. Imagined audience (marwick & boyd, 2012) to see everyone) Who we imagine our audience is when posting. People are not good at imagining their audiences (berstein, et al. , Berstein asked participants to estimate their audience if they posted (aka- how many people do you think will see your post?)
