Recent studies have focused on how information contained in social media profiles (e. g. , pictures, posts, likes) reveals the personality trait of users. In addition, there is interest in whether people can accurately predict others" personality based on social media information. Considering the assumptions of the lens model and warranting effects, groups of four students will collect social media and personality data. Using this data, your group will turn in a 4-5 page paper addressing the questions below. You need to (1) quantify your social media profile, (2) rate your own personality, (3) have people that do not know you well or strangers rate your personality profile. Then you need to (4) send the group database to jpena@ucdavis. edu. The instructor will reply with a correlation table summarizing your data. (5) using the data, you will turn in a group report answering the questions below. The group paper is due electronically on august 19.
