Deception is an aberration; it is distant from the norm. Truthfulness - involves the exchange of info that is known by the communicator to be accurate (i. e. , the accurate portrayal of info as understood by the sender) To communicate w/ truthfulness means communicate w/ fidelity. In the us, we expect others to be truthful. We presume that others will tell us the truth. Also called microexpressions - quick displays of emotion on the face. They are quick & hard to notice. Leakage cues does not always mean that the person is lying, but it does show that they are trying to hide an emotion.
