Ancient greeks, plato (truth) vs. the sophists (style: aristotle rhetoric: first persuasion theory, techniques on argumentation, employing analogy is a good technique for argumentation. Involves logos, ethos, and pathos: logos: logic, reason, proof, ethos: credibility/trust, pathos: emotions/ values.
