25% of sheep around planet are some variation of awassi fat tailed sheep, carrying around 5kg of fat, important for things like cooking, supply of oil and meat, different breeds have different proportions of hair, kataholm. People tend to have different breeds of sheep that have unique characteristics. Bred for different types of meat and multivalued: sheep meat, lamb that is going to be less than 1yr. Sheep not as common in us: mutton tends to have higher fat content and not taste as good. Very common in aust/nz and eaten a lot: mutton, mature sheep, meat used for pet food, meat pie, less elaborate meals, things to know about feeding sheep, flock has to eat something. Fed some kind of forage: plant derived material that can be growing out in paddock or in hills and range where the quality of grass is brown, lots of varity of forage.
