Bled them out, then thought he cured them. The e ect may be due to some other cause along with your hypothesis cause. Researchers include comparison group(s) and control for confounds. People tend to base judgments on the likelihood on how easy it is to retrieve examples of these events from memory. Easy to retrieve does not equal true ! People tend to ask questions and look for evidence that con rms their hypothesis but don"t ask questions or look for evidence that might discon rm their hypothesis. People rate themselves as less biased than the average american.
