Pre-operational stage 2-7 years: uses language, begins to represent objects with images and words, reasons intuitively and largely based on appearance egocentric thinking, however, begins to think symbolically. Beginning to attribute mental states theory of mind. Concrete operational stage 7-12 years: increased classi cation skills, beginning of logical reasoning, end of egocentrism, increased ability for abstract reasoning. Formal operational stage 12+ years: ability to think logically, abstractly, able to generate and systematically test hypotheses, able to consider multiple points of view at once, cognitive limitations related to limited experience; invincibility. Socialization: integration of the individual and the social world: the process by which humans become increasingly part with the social world, increasingly connected with others and the world, and increasingly integrated w/ others.
