Document Summary
Midterm extra credit: go to office hours (ge or prof) (review missed questions) (1pt) (1+ point for a 4 sentence essay response about that question) Memorize order, important events, and time periods. Late heavy bombardment and effects on the surface of earth. Effects of the evolution of stromatolites on the early atmosphere and climate and compare/contrast this change with atmospheric changes today. Theory of evolution: still true, but the theory that change happens very slowly isn"t always true. Nebula: giant cloud of hydrogen, nitrogen, dust, plasma. Explains: why all the planets are spinning in the same direction. Core gets denser, accretionary disc around (b/c of gravity) Heavier stronger attraction to other items (gravitational pull increases as center gets more dense, more mass is pulled in nuclear fusion and birth of our sun/stars. Matter separates out by weight, collision + == collapsing of planets (gas giants form!)
