Document Summary

We are going to learn how to model with mysql workbench. The bottom left is the information for the selected item. When the database name is bolded that means that anything you do in the editor will effect that database. The concept with the models is that they are created using the mysql schema. The schema name should match the database name. The first thing you want to do in workbench is change the schema name to the name of the database you want it to be a model for. Then you want to start building a diagram by clicking add diagram up in the top center. Then you will get a new tab that is named eer diagram. The center area is called the modeling canvas. Be careful about changing the screen size and that it hides buttons when you are not at the max size.
