Utilitarianism: philosophy that believes that the best moral action is the one that mazimizes utility, more benefit to sentient entities, producing the most amount of happiness. Greatest happiness principle: actions are right in proportion as they tend to promote happiness, wrong if they tend to produce unhappiness, Hedonism: the pursuit of pleasure, sensual sel-findulgence, pleasure is highest good, aim of human life. Quantitative hedonism: theory that all pleasues have equal intrinsic goodness in quantity, intensity, and duration, high quantity or duration of pleasures determine value. Qualitative hedonism: states some pleasures can be better than others even if quantity are the same because higher quality is better than lower quality, pleasures of mine, intellect, imagination.
