BUA 235 Lecture Notes - Lecture 3: Computer Network, Phishing
Document Summary
Should assess the risks associated with a small computer network, can be in workplace, school computer lab, or even home office. Explain why. ex. university computer lab, people who lose, people who use the lab (students) Identify the asset (computers and periphery tech) that is being evaluated. What is connected to those computers printers, servers that house info for them (email) periphery equipment. Identify the risks this computer network could be or is exposed to. Ex. computer lab virus on one computer can spread to others connected to that computer, physical damage, theft. Rate the likelihood in your determination about what of these threats could occur and what impact this threat could have on your network (will it take it down or just be an inconvenience) Likelihood of virus very high, impact most are just inconvenience (impact low) Likelihood of someone smashing computer low, but impact high. Be specific, you should have a control for each risk identified.
