Forced to do something you find disgusting, humiliating and cruel. Test of mental, physical and emotional fitness. Up front payment of dedication to discourage free riders. Symbolic transfer of ownership of one"s body. Since 1969 at least one college student per year has died as a result of hazing. Many students suffer from depression and resort to suicide after. More than 70% of college greek life and sports teams report being hazed.
