Mcdonaldization: the intent to meet speci c goals with the most e ciency, predictability, control through technology, quantity over quality, and calculation. Bureaucracy dysfunctions: not all organization members are rational. Goal con icts: units con ict with organizational goals or in ghting occurs. Goal displacement: losing sight of original goals and sometimes those in power start to manipulate the organization oligarchy . Social structure framework: the distinctive, stable arrangement of institutions whereby human beings in a society interact and live together. Transformation of social structure: implies a fundamental change in society, which can be contrasted with social change viewed as gradual or incremental changes over a period of time. Dyad and triad: 2 people and 3 people. In-group: a group to which a person belongs and feels a sense of identity. Reference group: a group that strongly in uences a persons behavior.
