First occurred during the industrial revolution in britain between 1760 and 1850. Resulted in massive economic, technological, and social changes. People were forced to leave rural communities to get employment in emerging cities: migration. If you have a revolution then you will immediately have migration because of people who leave to go towards the revolution: urbanization. Increase proportion of a population lives in cities rather than rural cities. Factory system increased number of cities and the size of populations. People from diverse backgrounds began working in the same factory and live in the same neighborhoods. Led to social problems: inadequate housing, crowding, unsanitary conditions, poverty, pollution, crime: age of enlightenment (science) Someone did something bad, and how god is punishing them. Assumed scienti c law had human happiness as their goal.
