1- low death rate in individuals, live to old age. 2- moderate death rate, die at all ages. 3- high death rate, die at young age don"t live to old age. Static- a cross section of population during any period of time for a short period of time. Oldof marri- observed wolves and sheep, were wolves killed and left the skull. Cohort (age specific/dynamic life tables)- follow age specific survival and reproduction reported in a population from birth to death. Red deer- followed for 10yrs on island in scotland, able to build survivorship curve (type 1) Composite life table- data gathered over a number of years and generations using cohort or time specific techniques allowing the natural variability in rates of survival to be monitored and assessed. Mortalities are due to the overall predation rate that is influenced by functional and numerical response of the predator.
