World war ii & the origins of the cold war, 1939-1945: fascism in europe: adolph hitler and benito mussolini, germany was in shambles, had to pay war fees, this cripples germany. Anger in money interests: jewish people were believed to have a lot of money. Fear of communism: fear of communists, jewish people and eastern europeans were of communist decent. They have an appeasement: basically saying that they could have austria but they have to promise not to do this again, they do this again and again and again. Tipping point is 1939 when germany invades poland: war is declared by britain and france, hitler also signed a nonaggression pact with joseph stalin of the soviet union, saying he promises not to to invade the soviet union.
