Best way to get info out is through someone in media. Media rely on news releases for 2 reasons: reporters and editors spend time processing info, not gathering it. Always understa ed and need help getting info: no media enterprise has enough sta to cover every single event in the community. Tips and tricks on pg 365 - 367. Smart media release (smr: never send in word doc bc can be edited, use pdf, has hyperlinks, interactive media, youtube, additional info on website, etc. Search engine optimization (seo) to increase exposure: use buzz words. Writing tips: concise, clear headlines (55 characters or less) that re ects content of article, focus keywords in 1st couple paragraphs, link early, include multimedia & logo.
