Pasat - paced auditory serial addition task: numbers presented sequentially and you have to add two of them at a time so you inhibit the sum, uses attention, inhibition, echoic sensory store, phonological loop. Simultaneously, they are given a digit span task. Components of the working memory are separate independent subsystems. If two tasks use the same working memory systems, they cannot be performed simultaneously. You can perform a verbal and visual tasks simultaneously because they"re different capacities.
