Document Summary

Transduction: when physical energy transforms to neural impulse. In vision: eyes transform light into a neural impulse. Perception when the brain sorts out information in the occipital cortex from the neural impulse it received; attention; interpretation; meaning. Light goes through cornea(physical barriers) and liquid(aqueous and virtious(sp?) humeur: back of the eye(retina) through photoreceptor cells(rods & cones i. e. sensation in retina) Information travels forward and is compressed to bipolar cells and further in ganglion cells: axons of ganglion cells bundle together and travel through the back of the eye. Optic disk: blind spot where optic nerve leaves. Electromagnetic spectrum: we can see visible light and wavelength. Color doesn"t really exist because it"s based on perception. Filling in phenomena: one eye lls in for the other eye"s blind spot; top down processing. Jerky movement that happen involuntarily when you read or scan an image/face.
