Infants can see even before they are born. By 7 months, someone touch the mom"s stomach, they can hear. When they born, the voice of parents is familiar to her. Prefer one voice, choose mom, turns to mom because mom"s higher pitch voice they hear best. The emotional development will be jeopardized without sounds. Emotional racks (harllow"s experiment) in 1940 s. study the orphans babies. A bond was formed between children and parents. Healthy babies go into 4 stage development: stage 1: able to take interest in the world. Stage 2: 2-4 month, forming love or attachment. Stage 3: 4-8 months, love is not enough, we also want secure and other sth. Not every baby hit the stage at the same time. If mom had brother first, the mom will more engaging.
