Aphasia = i(cid:374)a(cid:271)ility to speak (cid:894)da(cid:373)age to wer(cid:374)i(cid:272)ke"s or bro(cid:272)a"s area(cid:895) The geography of the visual field is retained in the pvc. Pvc = primal visual cortex (central to vac) Vac = visual association cortex (peripheral to pvc) Back part of frontal lobe = motor cortex. Next to sensory cortex = beginning of parietal lobe. Brain plasticity = brain is flexible to perform function of another part of brain if that part of brain is lost. Lateralization of brain function (split brain) (sperry contributed to this theory) Devoted to interpreting sensations from movement of motor cortex. Half devoted to movement of face, jaw, throat, etc.
