Civil rights laws federal, state and local ordinances. Fmla = family and medical leave laws: mandates unpaid leave for medical problems involving you or your family. Flsa = fair labor standards act: minimum wage, working overtime, etc. laws, usually federal cases. Osha = occupational safety and health act: largely in a manufacturing context work injuries and deaths. Nlra = national labor relations law: deals with unions (an organized group of workers who collectively use their strength to have a voice in their workplace) Title vii race, color, religion, sex & national origin and pregnancy, childbirth/related medical conditions . You must have a threshold of 15 employees for title vii to apply to you. Check state and local laws may be broader; thresholds may be lower.
