Ses (socio-economic status) determines the types of jobs we get early in life, which affect our personalities, which affect our later jobs. Aspects of work conditions that affect development: Aspects of personality that change in response to work: Fatalism, conservatism, etc. can ingrain a sense of rigidness to change. The self is a process in which we construct a sense of who we are through interaction with others. Rate of change in self-development process is different for everyone. The self process at a given point in time is the self-concept. Self-concept reference to himself as an object (rosenberg 1979) : the totality of the individual"s thoughts and feelings having. We are not born with a self; rather, the self is a product of socialization and interaction.
