Dacc is also part of grief , rejection and sepections. In scanner can look at pain and social exclusion. Done through cyberball, people stop throwing the ball, feel expulsion. Social pain is also felt when game is computer generated. Another study looked at empathy for others pain. Especially for people you are close to. Women got electric shocks same time as boyfriend. Long term illness, paralysis, loss of loved one, rape etc. We expect long term trauma after bad events. Counseling for ptsd is a common norm. Study with people who lost child to spouse. Study of bereaved gay men who had partners with aids. Found that bereaved gay givers are more depressed. Depression levels return to baseline at four months.
