Funk with a bow ie= funk in a club atmosphere. Comes out of gay nyc club culture: hard to get a band for gay clubs, relects origins. Djs creaing smooth mixes of dance music. First disco club, which was david mancuso"s lof in his apartment. Legal groundwork for future clubs: didn"t have any alcohol sold there. Scenes within scenes: laino gay people stayed with lainos, and so on. Macho man : clearly gay, but somehow it passed. Never can say goodbye- 1975 album: strings that give you the ability to just want to dance, disco diva. First side had three songs with no breaks. 1975- only 1 top disco song: but it was barely even disco. 1976- 5 out of the top 10 were disco songs. Studio 54 the lof, writ large exclusive, gimmicky like the four tons of gliter or the long waits for 100 people shut down for tax evasion, and blow.
