Us sends the most remittances at billion. Saudi arabia sends the second most at billion. Most migrants relocate a short distance and remain in the same country. Most individuals do not want to leave their home. Each migration current (pattern) produces a countercurrent of lesser strength. Migrants going to a long distance usually go to a major city. Most people are moving to get a better life, maybe get a job. Females are more migratory than males over a short distance, but more men are involved in international migration. However, since 1990s mexican women account for half the illegal migration to the us. No longer applicable, this law is changing because more and more women are becoming more migratory long distance. Large towns grow more by migrants than by natural increase. Migrants are having more children than the population that is there. The major migration flows are from rural to urban areas (historically)
