Strength s and weaknesses of ucr, ncvs, nibrs. Ucr: strengths: 99% of jurisdictions report their data to the ucr annually, weaknesses: can be politically manipulated, hierarchy rule, only show what gets reported, not mandatory for police dept. Nibrs: strengths: no hierarchy rule, weaknesses: mostly only used in small jurisdictions. Difference between a study and an experiment. An experiment is a type of study. All experiments are studies, but not all studies are experiments.
