Zeus"s paranoia towards hera has concrete foundation based on the background of events that have happened before zeus"s coming to power. Ouranos was castrated only because gaia convinced her son, kronos, to castrate his own father and overthrow him. Gaia also devised of the plan for rhea to trick kronos into swallowing a rock instead of zeus and later helping zeus to overthrow kronos. It portrays zeus as this masculine figure who is all powerful and demanding while thetis is groveling at the feet of zeus like a powerless figurine swept up by the aura and presence of zeus. Ares is a war god and is very violent. Hera"s origins is full of historical complexities but in the context of myceneans, it could be inferred that hera is older than zeus and therefore it could belittle him and make him inferior in terms of the gods.
