Dionysus disguises himself as a stranger to deceive pentheus into seeing delusions which inculcates an urgency to act against dionysus" cult. Pentheus dresses up as a female bacchant in order to obtain security from the maenads. Pentheus is effortlessly swindled by the stranger and not once does he think that the disguised man may be dionysus. Pentheus is out to abolish the exact god standing right in front of him. Use their family connections, appearance, and personalities to make your case. The hero pentheus and the god dionysos are similar in appearances and personalities because they are blood-related. They are cousins for their mothers, semele and agave, are sisters. It is very likely they grew up in close proximity and are approximately the same age too.
