What does the sign represent, how is it communicating to us, and what should we think about it. Process at which sex becomes representative of gender. Reproduction of labor: public vs private work to produce capital. Seen by everyone that this is helpful. In the shadows doesn"t seem so helpful. Kinship system: the system of social relationships connecting people in a culture who are or are held to be related. Camp: heightened exaggeration of a certain quality: deliberately constructing a certain type of ideal. Has a lot to do with audience representation: ex: greece exaggerated nature of that time. Brings possibility of witnessing audience is in control of how they see it. Objects aren"t camp b/c don"t have intention: na ve (cid:523)unintentional(cid:524): representation or embodiment that isn"t aware. Ex: woman with way too much plastic surgery doesn"t see it.
